Ariel's responsibilities include the administration of Lustre, Panasas, and GPFS parallel file systems and the underlying storage area networks. He also assists system administrators with storage integration and optimization for the Linux/UNIX clusters of LONI, TeraGrid and HPC@LSU.
Background
Prior to being tasked with lead file system support at LSU, his work at the Center for Gravitational Wave Astronomy varied from technical support to research on visualization of numerical relativity group?s simulations of astrophysical black hole coalescences. He also managed the center's Linux server infrastructure and HPC/HTC clusters. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Brownsville in 2003.
