Michael has worked at LSU as a systems administrator since 2001. He was hired by HPC@LSU in 2006 to oversee the installation and operation of the IBM Power5 compute clusters acquired by LONI. Since then, Michael has managed the Power5 clusters in use by both LONI and HPC@LSU and has been heavily involved in the design, implementation and continued evolution of the digital infrastructure of those two organizations.
Michael's professional interests include performance tuning, cross-platform system integration issues, configuration management and system automation.
