INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 2 (Systems Administrator)
High Performance Computing (HPC)/Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (LONI)Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree; two years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems; two years of experience administering related HPC systems.
Additional Qualifications Desired:
Advanced degree in relevant field; experience with AIX, IBM pSeries hardware, and various architectures for Linux; experience with FORTRAN, C/C++, Java, and other modern languages such as Python, PHP, and Perl; demonstrated knowledge of existing LSU HPC systems; excellent oral and written communications skills.
Special Requirements:
Ability and willingness to travel to various LONI sites.
Responsibilities:
designs, implements, configures, handles security, administers, and maintains LONI HPC resources including, but not limited to cluster systems, shared memory systems, grid systems, storage systems, and visualization systems in coordination with LONI Networking and Policy staff and the performance monitoring and optimization of hardware and software resources within the LONI HPC environment; represents HPC and LONI in statewide, national, or international forums or partnerships; researches emerging trends in HPC and development of HPC solutions for LONI; participates in professional improvement or training activities; performs other duties as assigned by the Manager of HPC Systems, the Director of HPC, the Executive Director of LONI, or their designee; travels to various LONI sites to maintain physical installation of systems.
