INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 2 (Systems Administrator)

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related computationally intensive technical discipline; Minimum of two years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems; Minimum of two years of experience administering related HPC systems;Excellent oral and written communications skills with a proven ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations on specialized topics and write and publish technical papers and documentation.
Additional Qualifications Desired:
Advanced degree in relevant field; experience with AIX, IBM pSeries hardware, and various architectures for Linux; experience with FORTRAN, C/C++, Java, and other modern languages such as Python, PHP, and Perl; Experience with high performance computing systems and storages; demonstrated knowledge of existing LSU HPC clusters and storage systems.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, implementation, configuration, security, administration, and maintenance of HPC resources including, but not limited to cluster systems, shared memory systems, grid systems, storage systems, and visualization systems in coordination with other appropriate staff. Includes: Operating system and software installation as well as systems scripting; Monitoring system logs and analyzing performance statistics; Installation, management and upgrade of clusters and storage systems; Coordinate LSU HPC admin activities with LONI. Assist/train/mentor other systems personnel with System deployments and management issues; Support problem resolution; System maintenance and Upgrades. Assist in providing problem resolution, technical support, and advice to application systems personnel deploying services on HPC systems. Represents HPC and CCT in statewide, national, or international forums or partnerships; researches emerging trends in HPC and development of HPC solutions; participates in professional improvement or training activities; performs other duties as assigned by the Manager of HPC Operations, the Director of HPC.
