Email Ticket
The preferred method for requesting help is via email to sys-help@loni.org. This method is most appropriate for complex problems which require detailed descriptions, samples of computer output, and/or multiple exchanges with the consultants.Telephone
Problems may be called in by phone to the HPC Help Desk at +1 (225) 578-0900. If no one answers, please try back or use the email method. The consultants may be busy helping others. The Help Desk also serves as the first stop if appointments for advanced consulting services are required.Library Advising Desk
The Library Advising Desk in the LSU Middleton Library provides walk-up services. The Advising Desk is located on the first floor of the library, across from CC's Coffee Shop. Please note the limitation on hours of operation in the table above.Instant Message
Instant message (IM) chat services from AOL IM, Yahoo! IM, and Google Talk are monitored as user lsuhpchelp. Chat is suitable for very simple problems, and users may be directed to one of the other methods that is better suited to the complexity of the problem. Please be aware that consultant services are currently manned at a best-efforts level.
