Queen Bee, the 23rd fastest supercomputer in the world according to the June, 2007 Top500 listing -- named after the nickname of Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, is a 50.7 TFlops Peak Performance 680 compute node cluster running the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 operating system. Each node contains two Quad Core Xeon 64-bit processors operating at a core frequency of 2.33 GHz. Queen Bee was housed at the state's Information Systems Building (ISB), Baton Rouge.
